For many of us, we fell into our career by accident or without careful analysis or deep introspection on the issue.  During adulthood, questions and thoughts such as "is this all there is?" or "I don't know what I want to do, but I know it's not this!" may arise, causing confusion and a lack of direction.

Sometimes career change is foisted upon us, requiring us to react and deal both practically and emotionally with changing circumstances.

Consulting with a career counsellor may prove very beneficial.  Counsellors use varying methods to assist you and it is of the utmost importance that you feel comfortable with the person you will be working with.

At Career Wisdom, the principal consultant is Lois Keay-Smith.  A trained career counsellor, Lois calls herself a career consultant, as she blends career counselling and coaching methodology, together with marketing strategies.  Her client-centred approach means that she is flexible with the method of assisting individual clients, rather than relying on a "one-size-fits-all" formula. 

Lois holds a Graduate Certificate in Career Development from Edith Cowan University and is an Associate Member of the Australian Association of Career Counsellors.  She is completing a Master of Career Development. 

Lois has access to the latest career development tools, including the high-tech "New Directions" software program, which powerfully combines with her own "high touch" process of career counselling. Most clients looking for a fresh direction or to clarify career dilemmas initially take up a Career Exploration. This involves finding out about multiple aspects of you and your career, following by intensive career counselling.  A comprehensive report is also included.

Other consultations may be focussed around interview techniques, assistance in deciding between comparable job offers, life/work balance or other career related issues, depending on your needs, at an hourly rate. 

Career consultation sessions are held in person, by appointment, in South Perth.   Phone consultations for remote clients, are also available.
